FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. Northern Arizona University s track & field team will host the Big Sky Outdoor Track & Field Championship this week. The Lumberjack men and women were the preseason favorites to hoist Big Sky titles this season as they look to sweep the track & field championships. A title this weekend would give the NAU men their third consecutive triple crown, defined as winning cross country, indoor and outdoor track & field championships in the same school year. A title this weekend for the women would serve as NAU s first women s outdoor championship since 2006 when the team won three consecutive beginning in 2004.
